PLAYFORD CHARITY TOURNAMENT RAISES $3000 FOR CosWeCare

We are proud to advise that Playford Bowling Club was awarded the 2025 Sports Club of the Year
by the Playford Council at the recent Australia Day celebrations.
This is a tremendous accolade for our young club as we seek to develop new, and strengthen existing, links within the wider Playford community. The award would not have been possible without the tireless contributions made by our wonderful volunteers, whose efforts underlie everything we strive to achieve.

New Champions!
Congratulations to Michael Frost, who defeated Paul Martin in the exciting final of the men’s singles
championship. Even more dramatic was the final of the men’s doubles, when Craig Keeley and
Michael Keenan defeated Michael Frost and Darren Russell 16-15 on the last end!
The ladies’ singles final was held more recently and Ingrid Scholefield triumphed over last year’s
winner Julie Martin. The mixed doubles have yet to be completed and there was no ladies’ doubles
championship this year.

On Sunday October 8th our club held the second Chris Prow Memorial Tournament, with $1200 prize money generously donated by KCL Sports, the company which installed our new bowling surfaces. The tournament was held to remember and celebrate the major contributions made by a former club stalwart and Life Member, Chris Prow, to the Elizabeth and Playford Bowling Clubs.
The day was a great success, thanks to the efforts of many volunteers, especially our kitchen ladies, who gave up their own opportunity to compete to ensure that sixteen mixed-gender teams could enjoy the day. Congratulations to the winning team of Sheila and Ron Slager, Steve Attridge and Peter Coombs, pictured below.

Congratulations to our ladies 2022-23 Pennant Winners
Ladies Prestige Medley Finals
Playford Bowling Club was proud to host the recent finals of the Ladies Prestige Medley. Twelve regional teams from throughout the state competed over two long days, before the Metro South team defeated Metro East in the final. Congratulations to all competitors for the terrific standard of play and the friendly atmosphere on display throughout. Many thanks to all those club members who volunteered their time to make this event such a success.
